Stitching Away

I have this pretty zodiac birth sampler cross stitch that my mom made for me way back whenever.

I have always loved it and decided that I should make them for my daughters as well. So I hunted down the book and bought some supplies.

They came in the mail Saturday and I spent way too much time on Sunday stitching. I have some pretty flowers now though!

This first one is for Aubrey, and I haven't decided what I am going to put in the middle yet. I figured I would just start with the border and go from there. I am stitching it on 32 count linen 2 over 2 (the same as 16 count aida). I think it looks really nice so far. When finished it should fit nicely in an 11x14 frame.

  1. It looks cute! I should do something like this for my girls. What do July (Cancer) and November (Scorpio) look like?

  2. Cancer is pretty with red roses. Scorpio is kind of "boyish" with fall colored leaves and juniper berries. Sierra is a Scorpio too. I will probably do something different for hers.

  3. Hmmm...well if I decide to do them for the girls maybe I'll have to use a different flower for Kaitlin. The roses sound pretty though!
